Psychonauts Sequel Pitch Gets No Takers, So Notch Steps Up On Twitter

So there's this new Digital Spy interview with Tim Schafer, bossman at Double Fine and creator of the PlayStation 2-era action/platformer Psychonauts (among many other things). He admits in the interview that a pitch for a Psychonauts sequel exists, that that the publishers he's pitched so far have passed. "I'd have to convince someone to just give me a few million dollars. That's all," he said. Fortunately for us all, Markus "Notch" Persson exists. Not only did he create Minecraft, he's also someone who has a deep and abiding love for the same awesome games that most of you readers go nuts for. Games like Psychonauts. Notch also likes Twitter, as does Schafer. So he tweeted (via Rock Paper Shotgun) the following at the Double Fine head: "Let's make Psychonauts 2 happen." No, this isn't really news. There's nothing happening... yet. It's a fact that Mojang is a publisher, and that it's made a goodly sum of money off of Minecraft sales. Maybe if enough of us report on Notch's tweet, and wish and hope hard enough, one day, perhaps many years from now, a Mojang-published Psychonauts 2 really will be a reality. And THAT, my friends, would qualify as news. Source: Twitter, Digital Spy [image created using SpriteCraft]
